Like the Wii a decade ago, the Nintendo Switch is a bona fide hit. It’s been a real challenge to find the portable console anywhere since it’s debut in March, but as the holiday season approaches, there are finally a few stores with enough Switch stock to go ‘round.
Now is a great time to purchase, too. Super Mario Odyssey has arrived. It’s the most anticipated Mario game in ages, wowing Wired’s own Julie Muncy, who says Mario Odyssey is “the sort of giddy, absurd triumph that Nintendo hasn’t pulled off in years.”
We’ve scoured the web and found a few websites offering Super Mario Odyssey, the Switch, and other bundles. If you do purchase a Switch, know that it only has 32GB of storage onboard, so you’ll want a MicroSD card. Find one with a good amount of storage, like this 64GB card from SanDisk. The Nintendo Switch Super Mario Odyssey Bundle – $380
This bundle comes with a digital copy of Odyssey, special red Joy-Con controllers, and a red carrying case, which will come in handy if you plan to tote the Switch along on a trip. Sadly, Amazon is sold out, but you can still order it from GameStop. The Nintendo Switch Mario Odyssey bundle costs $380.
Super Mario Odyssey sans Switch – $60
There are some benefits to buying a physical version of Super Mario Odyssey, like being able to easily let your friends play it, but Amazon sells Digital Codes as well. You can buy it straight from Nintendo on the console, but if you are buying for someone else, Amazon is a much easier option. Grab your own copy of Mario Odyssey from Amazon for $60.
The Nintendo Switch is Available on Amazon – $300
Due to demand, it’s unlikely there will be any huge Switch discounts this year, but Amazon has two versions of the console in stock: one with gray Joy-Con controllers and another with colorful red and blue. You can snatch the Nintendo Switch for $300 on Amazon.
If you aren’t an Amazon shopper, we also found the Switch in stock at GameStop. GameStop has several bundles, like this Switch Legend of Zelda Bundle for $360.
Other retailers may have stock, but you may have to play musical stores to pick your console up. It appears that some Best Buy’s have Switch consoles, as do some Target stores and Toys R Us locations. Walmart will let you order a Switch, but you’ll have to pick up some games and accessories with it.
Still Having Trouble Finding a Switch?
If some of the buying links above don’t work by the time you read this, you can also check eBay for Switch models. There are usually some for sale and often at a reasonable price. NowInStock is a great resource to check a bunch of retailers at once. Stock Informer may also aid your search.
More Fun For Nintendo Fans
It won’t make it in time for Halloween, but you can buy your own Cappy hat for $23. This PowerA Joy-Con Grip is also Mario themed and looks pretty nice. And since we haven’t mentioned it yet, the Nintendo New 3DS XL SNES Edition is up for pre-order ($200) at a number of retailers.
