Linda Reid to deliver keynote at SECURITY 500 Conference

Linda Reid, Vice President of Security Operations at The Walt Disney World Resort, will deliver the keynote address at the SECURITY 500 Conference in Washington, D.C. this November.

For 17 years, the SECURITY 500 Conference by Security magazine has brought together top security executives and government leaders for a day of engaging keynote presentations, panels and networking events.

In her keynote address, Reid will discuss executing security leadership principles amidst a complex, shifting threat landscape. The keynote will include actionable advice for managing the security challenges, focusing on the role strategic security practices play in reducing emerging risks.  

Prior to joining the Walt Disney Company, Reid had an 18 year career with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). Throughout this part of her career, Reid served as both an analyst and operations officer, gaining overseas experience in South Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East. She managed issues such as terrorism, cyber intelligence, weapons of mas destruction, unmanned aircraft programs, and verification of international arms control treaties. 

Reid received Intelligence Medals for service in Iraq and Bosnia, a National Meritorious Unit Citation for Weapons of Mass Destruction, the Intelligence Community’s Studeman Award for Excellence, and numerous other CIA awards for Merit, Excellence, and Distinguished Service. She is also a founding member of the Classified Intelligence Forum associated with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which supports DHS analysts in understanding private sector threats. She also founded the Commercial Facilities and Outdoor Events subsector councils.

Furthermore, Reid is a former Chairman of the State Department’s Pan-Asia Regional Council, a founding member of the Private Sector Intelligence Council, and a member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions’ inaugural security committee. 

Reid joined the the Walt Disney Company in 2008 as the Director of the Global Intelligence and Threat Analysis unit. There, she developed a team of corporate intelligence analysts who work as a “strategic tripwire” for threats to the Walt Disney Company’s visitors, personnel, facilities, and brand globally. The intelligence portfolio reaches across 72 brands, covering the Parks and Resorts business segment. Motion picture productions involved are Disney Studios, Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm; other brands include ABC News, ESPN, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Stores and Adventures by Disney land tours. 

The 17th annual SECURITY 500 Conference will unite high-level security executives and their direct reports in Washington, D.C. on November 18, 2024. This one-day leadership conference is free to attend, and attendees are limited to security executives, senior management and their direct reports in both private and public sectors.
