Is Spotify Down? Streaming Service Reports Issues

Bust out your old CD collection. Spotify users reported problems accessing the streaming service Tuesday morning, with nearly 20,000 issues reported to Downdetector as of 10:30 a.m. ET.

Spotify reported in a post on its Spotify Status X account that it is aware of concerns: “We’re aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!”

CNET has reached out to Spotify for more information on the outage.

The latest update on Downdetector shows outage reports down slightly, but still above 17,000. That’s a big number, and the sign of a significant outage. The map showing user reports across the US looks pretty widespread, with significant reports in cities from coast to coast.

NordVPN, which also tracks site outages across the internet, also shows a significant number of Spotify problems, starting before 10 a.m. ET.
