Best Flower Delivery Deals: Last-Minute Floral Bouquets Just in Time for Mother’s Day – CNET

Mother’s Day weekend is practically upon us, but all is not lost if you haven’t already sent a card or made a plan. Thanks to many online floral delivery services, it’s still possible to treat all the moms and mother figures in your life to a flower bouquet — as long as you order ASAP. Since Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 12, some of the options are no longer viable, such as ordering an orchid or houseplant from one of our favorite places to shop for plants online — though gift cards are still a great gift.

Hey, did you know? CNET Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

The good news is, for the procrastinators out there, we’re seeing a few great deals pop up at the last minute. Plus most of the major floral retailers are offering expedited shipping, just be advised that because it is one of the busiest weekends of the month for florists, nailing down the precise delivery date and time may no longer be an option. At this point many of the flower delivery shops are offering a window between May 10 and May 12. Be aware also that delivery fees for May 11 or May 12 are typically higher. Keep an eye on this article, as we’ll keep updating it with fees and deals in these last couple of days before Mother’s Day.

Gopuff/CNET

Fees range from $4 and up, but if you sign up for Gopuff’s FAM Membership for $8 a month, you get free delivery, no fees and other deals. In fact, the $40 bouquet drops to $30 and the $20 bouquet drops to $15 for FAM members. Floral delivery deals that may not arrive on time

The following flower and plant deals are still offering deals but won’t arrive in time for Mother’s Day. In some instances, such as with Easyplant, Bloomscape, or Plants.com, you can still get a gift card electronically and Mom can pick out what she’d like.

Rose Farmers

This StackSocial is still valid and though the flowers won’t arrive in time for Mother’s Day, it’s still worth a mention in case you’ve got another occasion coming up or won’t be seeing Mom until later in the week. You can get two dozen (24) long-stem roses and a vase for $50 with delivery. The color of the roses will be random based on the best available.

There is also another deal to get two dozen roses for $25 via StackSocial, but the second deal does not include shipping or a vase. Shipping can range from $16 to $18, but it’s still a great deal.

Note that the purchase via StackSocial is for a digital voucher that you redeem yourself at Rose Farmers’ website, where you can enter the delivery address. Rose Farmers recommends choosing a delivery date one to two days prior to the event date so the chances of you getting these on time for Mother’s Day are very low at this point.

easyplant/CNET

Easyplant sells high-quality houseplants that come in self-watering pots. All Mom has to do is fill the reservoir about once a month, and the plants soak up water, so frequent watering is no longer a thing. The plants all come in heavy-duty ceramic pots in an array of colors. Right now, it’s offering an array of exclusive Mother’s Day pot colors as well as free shipping and personalized gift notes.

Easyplant has some big savings when you buy a collection of two or more plants. On the modest side, you can save $6 on the retail price (two plants) and on the epic, fill-her-entire-house-with-plants side, you can save $359 on a collection of 12 plants. There are plenty of bundle sizes in between too. The discounts range from 5% to 21%.

As with other plant-delivery services, you can’t choose the exact day of delivery. Plants arrive within four to nine business days after the order is placed, so at this point, your gift will be late but still appreciated.

The Sill/CNET

The Sill is one of our favorite places to shop for plants online, and it’s known for high-quality plants, including ferns, orchids, tropical houseplants and more. Select plants, like this beautiful yellow orchid in a gold pot, are on sale for between 25% and 30% off. You can also save up to 40% when you purchase plant sets, including pet-safe and low-light collections.

Because of the shipping times it is unlikely your purchase will arrive in time for Mother’s Day but still makes a nice gift.

  • If Mom has a green thumb, you can treat her to a six-month plant subscription from Horti. While you won’t get a straightforward discount, you do save over the cost of buying plants individually, and first-time customers can sign up to receive 10% off the first month.

When is Mother’s Day in 2024?

In 2024, Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, May 12.

What is the best online flower delivery service?

The best online flower delivery services offer two main things: beautiful, fresh flowers and reliable, fast delivery. Our team of reviewers tested a handful of popular online floral delivery services and felt that The Bouqs Co. has the best overall selection of flowers. 1-800 Flowers ranked as the best budget subscription and BloomsyBox as the best flower subscription.

How soon should I order flowers online before Mother’s Day?

When shopping for flowers, keep in mind that rural addresses might not qualify for same- or next-day delivery. We’ve noted in this article if Mother’s Day (Sunday) delivery is available. Also be advised that as Mother’s Day approaches, some of the delivery services are only guaranteeing delivery during a window between May 11 and May 12 due to the volume of orders.

Will my flowers arrive in time for Mother’s Day?

Many of the floral delivery services are still offering expedited shipping to ensure arrival in time for Mother’s Day. Weekend and holiday delivery fees are often more expensive, so be prepared to pay extra to get any flowers there on time. Services like FTD and ProFlowers have the biggest selection of same-day flowers, which may be the only option available if you wait until the last minute.
