Samsung CHG90 49-inch Dual HD Monitor now $499 at Microsoft
If you’re looking for a really ultra-wide gaming monitor (32:9 aspect ratio), the well-regarded Samsung CHG90 is well regarded. We reviewed the CHG90 and found it to render DCI-P3 color accurately, and had excellent response with low input lag.
The CHG90 retails for $999.99, but it currently on sale for $499.99 at Microsoft (opens in new tab), representing a 30 percent price cut. The 49-inch monitor features what’s called a Dual HD resolution, or 3840 x 1080 with a 1ms response time 144 Hz refresh rate (AMD FreeSync supported) courtesy of a QLED panel.
If contrast is what you’re after, the CHG90 promises 3,000:1 performance but actually we found it did better, returning 3,735:1 on our tests.
Typical brightness is rated for 350 nits, while peak HDR brightness tops out at 600 nits. In our tests, we found that regular brightness hit 338.4 nits on our light meter while HDR hit a strong 589 nits.
The monitor also delivered 89 percent of the DCI-P3 gamut and 99.9 percent of the sRGB color gamut. Those are solid numbers and in line with competitors that have much smaller panels.

For example, the Dell S3222DGM had the best screen uniformity score of its competitors, which means a consistent picture no matter what part of the panel you look at.
Dell claims that the S3222DGM has a 3000:1 contrast ratio, which would be impressive but inline with other monitors that have VA panels. However, on our tests, we found that it actually has a 4,209.8:1 contrast ratio. That blows the field away and means your colors will pop.

LG 32GP850 32 UltraGear 32-inch Gaming Monitor now $397 at Amazon
LG made a name for itself with IPS panels in gaming monitors, and it continues to advance that tech today. One of the company’s more popular models, the LG 32GP850 32 UltraGear, is available today at a steep discount. Amazon is selling the monitor for $396.99 versus its MSRP of $599.99.
As its name implies, the 32GP850 is a 32-inch monitor, and it features a QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution with a 1ms response time and 165 Hz refresh rate. The panel supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync, while it can hit 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. Finally, LG rates the 32GP850 for typical brightness of 350 nits, while its typical contrast ratio comes in at 1,000:1.

Samsung C24RG50 23.5-inch 144Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor Now $120 @ B&H Photo
If you’re on a tight budget and are looking for a fast monitor for your gaming needs, this deal from B&H Photo should be right up your alley. The retailer has the Samsung C24RG50 23.5-inch gaming monitor on sale for just $119.99, down from its MSRP of $249.99.
That price gets you a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 144 Hz refresh rate, and a 1800R curvature for the display. Brightness tops out at 250 nits and the response time is 4ms, which is to be expected for a budget monitor. However, since the C24RG50 uses a VA panel, it boasts a contrast ratio of 3,000:1, along with AMD FreeSync support.
On the connectivity front, there are two HDMI 1.4 and one DisplayPort 1.2 port. There are no built-in speakers; however, we won’t complain at this price point.
